Well I have never owned or been involved with E39's so I don't know how to compare them :(

I just sold my e39 540it and I really liked the touring option, e34 is very different engine is bullet proof just do all the maintenance. With this touring you can't go wrong great $ and resell value will be great. E39 very expensive to maintain.

Thanks for chiming in! As far as a daily, this thing is awesome. Tons of room inside for passengers and gear. I have taken it on a few long highway drives and it has always been a pleasure

How is the motor? Passed emissions?

Passes emissions without problem, it is still tagged until 2013. Motor is strong, pulls hard. Surprises everyone that rides in it lol
