      I think some people get weird-ed out if the sides don't match.. Looks sometimes override function (or they may not realize that the x-bars are lighter)

      It's the same reason people will change the diving boards to plastic bumpers on the early chassis based race car.

        ^This. Also if i have a passenger i want them to be just as safe as i am. I'm not too concerned about weight really, 2650 (pro3 minumim) with driver shouldnt be a problem, i only weigh 150, so that gives me some wiggle room (i hope).

          As long as you didn't remove all the sound deadening, you'll be fine.

          2650 is the minimum weight after racing; meaning empty tank of gas. It's not hard to get these below the minimum.

            Well you want them light, then you can adjust with you ballast to balance the car and place the weight down low to drop the cg. We are limited to where we can place the ballast however

              They have locked it down to only being able to place ballast where the passenger seat would be mounted. Worry about getting it on the track before you worry about lightening it..
