They have locked it down to only being able to place ballast where the passenger seat would be mounted. Worry about getting it on the track before you worry about lightening it..Leave a comment:

Well you want them light, then you can adjust with you ballast to balance the car and place the weight down low to drop the cg. We are limited to where we can place the ballast howeverLeave a comment:

As long as you didn't remove all the sound deadening, you'll be fine.
2650 is the minimum weight after racing; meaning empty tank of gas. It's not hard to get these below the minimum.Leave a comment:

I think some people get weird-ed out if the sides don't match.. Looks sometimes override function
^This. Also if i have a passenger i want them to be just as safe as i am. I'm not too concerned about weight really, 2650 (pro3 minumim) with driver shouldnt be a problem, i only weigh 150, so that gives me some wiggle room (i hope).Leave a comment:

It's the same reason people will change the diving boards to plastic bumpers on the early chassis based race car.Leave a comment:

why'd you go with the nascar bars on the pass side? post some more pics!Leave a comment:

Yep, sorta medium sized nascar bars, nothing super crazy, but should provide enough protection. You can kinda see the passenger side in 2nd and 3rd pics. The material is 1.5 x .120 wall for anyone that's wondering.Leave a comment:

Looks really good! Can't see the driver's side, but I assume you went with NASCAR bars..Leave a comment:

I believe that SCCA has a formula for size and thickness based on the weight of the vehicle. In the E30 case it comes out to a minimum of 1.5x0.095 DOMLeave a comment:
