Here is an updated pic of the interior. Decided to keep the Momo Competition and sell it with a Momo Race instead.

Nice car. With all the goodies I would think 4.0 to 4.5K would not be unreasonable.

Martin, you should come down and drive it before I sell it. I notice you have a 318is and this one is a good example of what fixing all the suspension parts, and doing the Z3 steering rack swap does for the car. Cosmetically it looks plain, but it's drum tight to drive.

I dont know if I like the look of the seats. I would have reupulstered stock sports with quilted cardinal or black interior leather. But otherwise great. You should wait 2 years for the F30 M3 although.

The problem with the e30 sport seats is slop. Given the age then bend and give too much, and tend to rock back and forth a little. I've tried refurbishing e30 seats in the past, but not matter what I did they still weren't as firm as the e46 or e90 seats. The e90 seats are solid, and I was surprised how much a difference that made in the feel of the car. e90 sports seats would be preferable, but they are still prohibitively expensive. Cosmetics are subjective, I completely understand why some people wouldn't like the look. I was surprised that they actually look ok in the car. But they feel great.

I'm waffling on the M3. My 09 is 6-speed with the sports package, and I'm not 100% sure the M3 is worth it to me. Nice, sure, but the 328i is probably good enough, and I can buy a lot of stuff with the savings.

Yeah, I would go with a 335, some light modification and huge money savings. The 335's can be very quick with not much effort, and they look great too.

Your 318 looks great, it shouldn't take long to sell. And I know what you mean about the sloppy seats. My car had stock comfort seats, and rather than buying e30 sport seats that would probably be tired and have work upholstery, I went with e36 m3 sport seats (non-vaders). They look great, are comfortable and were in great condition. And I spent an afternoon building a harness for and hooking up the heated seats... it's one of my favorite features on my car.

My buildup continues with sway bars, and now I have springs/struts/LSD to complete. If you still have it by Sunday, I will at least go and take a good notice of the upgrades. PM me the phone #, etc.

James is a stand up guy. I've driven this car. It is absolutely solid. Drives perfect. I'm out of town at the moment. If I weren't, I would have already bought it.

I'm weird, I drove the 335 and didn't like it. The motor was rougher than the NA motors, and wasn't linear at all. Seemed like the pedal was all or nothing. The 328i has plenty of power for me, and I like the linear feel as I push it up the rpm's. I'm in the minority for not being nuts for the 335, but that's just me. Heck, if I could get the 335d in a manual I'd do it in a heartbeat. Of course that might explain why I'm waffling on the M3.

Heck, I like driving my 318is more than the e90, but at the end of the day the e90 is more practical for me as a single car to do anything.

Props on the e36 sport seats, they are a nice fit to the car. I have a set of e46 sport seats and considered putting them in, but they are just too wide to fit right, and the e90 seats did the job so well I didn't fuss with them. I'll bet the seat heaters are nice.

Hey, I thought about it and think I'm going to hold off on selling the 318is, it's just too nice and fun to drive for me to part with yet. I'll sell off the other cars first, and then if I still feel the itch to upgrade the 328i, I'll put it back up for sale.

You should try the new F 328i with the four banger; is turboed too. I just read in the Bimmer mag about it, and is getting great reviews from about 4 different bimmer writers. Perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
