So the engine is in the car and i am in the process of putting the clutch/flywheel back on the block. My question is this. The engine came from an automatic and there was a spacer ring between the flywheel and the crank, there is a dowel pin on the engine that this covers perfectly. Do i need this piece? It seems to me with it in place the flywheel bolts do not have enough threads. I've searched but anytime someone asks this question people start taking about the ring that is on the front of the flywheel that distributes the load, this on is on the BACK. Does anyone know if i need this spacer or not?
