    r3v Sunday Morning Wrench Session(s)

Hey guys, so I pitched this to a bunch of guys on the facebooks and have gotten positive feedback, so here goes for realzies.

I thought that it'd be a good idea to combine two of my favorite things:
    1) Hanging out with you jerk-holes.
    2) Wrenching about with you jerk-holes.

So I was thinking of yet another meet, this one on Sunday morning(ish). The idea would be that we grab some brunch somewhere in the north-Seattle area, then come back and help each other out for 1.5-2hours (or longer) on each other's rides. Little issues that often take a LOT less time with some more eyes, stuff that we know someone else is an expert in, all that fun stuff.

    Some examples:
-Keyless entry kit thing (I know that Stephen is an expert on it and want to mooch his experience)
-Replacing a dash (Brad says that it can be done really quickly with a few guys or take eternity if by yourself)
-Audio wiring (the more hands the merrier)
    -Other things

In terms of overall timeframe I'm thinking like meet up at 10:15, eat until 11:15, futz around on cars until 1pm. Then we still have the rest of the day to do whatever.

In terms of brunch location, my normal place just shifted their opening to nooner but I know that there are a ton of other places in beautiful Greenwood, so we're not lacking options. For wrenching I'm happy to offer up my garage. I can fit one car in it and have a decent enough set of tools and tons of parking.

So if people want to try this out and see if it sticks, I'm game. I want to learn more about these fantastical machines and everyone always has ten things going on that it'd be cool to dig into.

Anybody want to jump on a project this coming Sunday to start this off?

This sounds like an awesome idea. I'm picking up ground controls that I'm installing over the weekend. Not sure that fits your wrenching timeline, however. I'd be willing to host this one of these days. I have a garage (only one side available while my RX is still ailing). I have space enough to park a 10-12 cars.

I may make it out this Sunday. Depends on how I feel. I'm traveling back from London tomorrow and simply may not be up for it by then.

I love the idea of rotating around too. Are you going to have your parts together by sunday?

I'm in if my schedule allows for it. I may bring some of my projects to work on (wheel refinishing).

Some of the stuff you listed woukd take way longer than 2 hrs (i.e. stereo wiring). Just a heads up as I am sure you don't want people hanging around all day to finish something that will take quite a bit longer to complete.

I figured something like a stereo rewiring is wholly doable with 2-3 guys as long as at least one of them has done it before.

For tools I have a pretty decent selection, sockets, pliers, clamps, lights jack/jackstands (thanks to mr brad), screwdrivers, etc. So if it's pretty standard-issue stuff I probably have it. There's also an autoparts store like 5 blocks away.

Lol you havent done one, have you? This all depends on the quality of install and depth of what you are doing (ie just amp or whole system). My installs have taken no less than 2 days, usually longer.

That's also given the person has everything needed to re wire, which usually something comes up.

It can be done in 2 hrs, but personally I wouldn't want that type of project rushed.

I'll agree to that last bit, you wouldn't want to do the whole thing in 2hours probably, but you could get a bunch done.

I did my whole LukeBox setup in a day with Luke telling me what to do for a lot of it and plenty-o-breaks.

But you right, it'd be a rush.
