Maybe they will let us sub 200hp guys run it going downhill. Cars newer than 2000 have to run it in neutral

Ill be with you though, having a completely (though well maintained) stock engine. Suspension is slightly better than stock, so I'm in for the curves. You and I can bring up the rear :)
We could haha, i just need to get money to sign up for the CCA.

I have to say thanks to everyone for putting this on, Ive wanted to drive this road since I heard about it a few years ago, thats why I got so annoyed when I couldnt. Problem solved, Im happy! Thanks guys for your hard work.

              -Simon
You're welcome for putting this on. This was my dream to run this road with BMW's and the CCA let this happen.

To that end, I need to make sure you guys understand how this event is able to happen: This is called a "rally", and it's insured through CCA as a NON High Performance Driving Event.

This is really important here. If we had to insure this as a HPDE, it would cost double, triple, or quadruple what I'm able to put this event on for you guys pricewise. It would also require a ton more work and manpower to do.

So, what does that mean? It means that sure, we can drive it spirited. But when people start pushing it towards the limits of their vehicles or their abilities, that's too far. This area has serious consequences for mistakes. I've personally witnessed a 100k Mercedes AMG convertible roadster slide off the road, hit a tree, fly about 20 feet in the air, land upside down, and YES, burst into flames. The two guys escaped serious injury but were transported via ambulance and the car was TOTALED. And I ***ALMOST*** was riding shotgun in THAT car. I just happened to jump in the car in front of him and got to watch it happen just a few hundred yards behind us.

If we have any 'incidents', it puts our ability to have this event period at risk.

Sure, it "only" costs $1000 to rent the road for the day. But how many of you have a 3 million dollar group liability insurance policy that you can put up to rent the road??? That's why this can only happen with the backing of a club like the CCA.

I'm sure you were kidding 2man when you said you'd be "drifting all the f***ing turns" but I want to be very clear what the character of the event is.

Spirited, yes. Pushing limits, NO. So, anyone that's not comfortable with how we run the event, I'm happy to give full refunds to.

I'm sorry if I am coming off sounding like a hard ass, but the bottom line is that this isn't a "free for all" and I can't have people coming in to this expecting it to be the next Tanner Foust drift battle.

Thanks for listening. And again, I have had NO ONE disappointed with the event or feeling shortchanged with how we have to run it.

We stagger the participants. The 2nd car isn't released until the car ahead hits the midpoint and the spotters @ the midpoint radio in. If u know you're gonna run a more relaxed pace, you will tell one of us, and we will allow for extra time before the next car is released. I personally would rather wait an extra minute before starting rather than be faced with a rolling e30 roadblock in front of my M3. :-D

Sounds good. And honestly, drive @your comfort level and no wet wipes will be required.

Sounds like people in the past found open seats. I know that I'd be happy to give someone a lift in my one spare seat. Of course, probably not too many will be willing to lug an entire care load. And I hear the verts insist that you be under 150lbs and have long blond hair. Not sure what that's about... ;)
