Price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. I repeat: price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. That's Vagiclean. We've got a customer down here with a full-on fallopian fungus. I'm baking a loaf of bread and I think it's sourdough.

Yeah I'm not here to perpetuate the "fake" vs "real" argument that will never die.

You are right in the fact that a lot of these manufacturers do copy other wheel designs and although its not completely fair, its how it goes. The ones who are being copied should be proud. Its not like they are losing business. Not everyone can or will afford their wheels.

The fact is there are 100+ sets of these cast wheels out there on cars for every one set of true splits, works, or bbs etc. I feel the very reason you see so many that are broken is simply because there are a) more out there and b) because when people pay $500 -1000 each wheel vs $500/set they tend to take care of them more. Those are also the people that tend to not run into stuff knowing they have 4k wrapped up in aluminum 2" from the road.

The other facts still remain. Most cast wheels are manufactured in china under the same standards. Even the 24" ones on 1 ton diesels hauling a 7000lb truck with a ton of cargo. Also most 3 piece wheels are made by the top 2 biggest wheel manufacturers no matter what brand. Just ask any of them.

being that we are a large community of E30 owners, you would think that if having wheels breaking is/was such a big issue, you would have heard about it since a good part of our community do run Rota, XXRs, the and likewise.

                Exactly my first point.

If they hold air, run true, and hold a car to the ground on a corner at 100 who cares..

I ran XXRs for a while on my E30. I beat them to death. Even had a weird issue where my caliper came loose because the carrier broke and lodged in the inside of one. Never an issue that you hear about though.

Oh and yes all cast wheels are 356 aluminum. the most common aluminum alloy for casting. BBS and the likewise are forged under intense pressure and are more likely a proprietary derivative of 6000 or 7000 series alloys similar to whats used in aircraft
