    E30 M3 Appraisal

So I'm considering picking up an 88 e30 M3 and I need some of your M3 expertise.

The car is grey on grey with just over 200k. The top end was rebuilt 30k ago and the bottom was done 20k ago. The car has been sitting for a few years and is in the process of getting tuned up and running. I haven't driven it yet, but the owner says it will run and drive great.

The interior is pretty beat up with cracked dash and rough seats. Door cards and carpets are good and all the electric stuff seems to work.

Body was resprayed well (not for body work) and looks good with no dents or scratches. The wing however has the clear coat fading badly.

It has alpina wheels with good rubber.

    Glass is all good.

So what do you guys think it's worth?

I'll get some pics up soon.

I was thinking 10-15 seats and dash are easy fix and the spoiler can be fixed.

wouldnt pay more than 7 for it. heres why:

consider the motor inoperative. it has been sitting for a couple years that can be a issue in itself. is there documentation for the work that has been done, is it a reputable shop? thats a dice roll right there.

if it has been resprayed again was it a reputable shop? why was it resprayed? what damage could it be covering?

are the alpina wheels legit? if they are copies theres obviously no sense in paying a premium for them.

just my .02 from a guy that bought a m3 off a side yard that needed some work but SHOULD run well when put together yadda yadda.

10-16k is where I would place it. Paint was probably 3k at least, the motor rebuild around 10k. And Alpinas are sexy.

As long as the body is straight and there is no rust issues.

A dash is minimal and easy, and to get a spoiler resprayed is a lot better then an entire car, haha.

And smonkbmw brings up a great point, is this all documented? If not, low ball!

The documentation is solid on all accounts and the seller is trusted and legit. All items are genuine.

Right now as a parts car...6-7K When it's complete have it taken for a PPI and get an unbiased opinion about the car.

Edit: All guess's until we see some photos

20k on block but 30k on head....does that make any sense to u? Was the block rebuilt, ran...then 10k later the head was rebuilt?
