I saw a wire burn a little, is the ignition switch hard to swap?

Define burn a little? You might be able to just wrap it with electrical tape and be ok but depends on the extent of the damage

Yes pretty easy, pull steering wheel, kick panels unplug and replace. Assembly is the hardest part, new wires are pretty stiff so you might need a couple long zip ties

As soon as I saw smoke I disconnected didn't burn through wire completely, I will take a pic when I'm off at 8pm... Just ordered switch & it's on its way

Easy way to figure it out is to push start the car (if manual) if it starts its not something like a coil.

I replaced my starter only to find out it was the ignition switch in the START position (no continuity) Granted yours has different symptoms

Ouch, how far up the harness does the melted wire(s) go?

Had to cut through a bunch of tape & wrapping shit but I was able to splice in after about 8 inches of burnt... Went to start and my battery is drained currently waiting on friend with jumpers

I connected jumpers and they started smoking a little... I double checked the wire a little further up and I think I need to replace the woke thing... Anyone know where the black/yellow wire from the ignition switch ends?

So I got everything back together and she lives... Question when I removed the intake is there anything that I could have bumped loose that would make my car idle like ish? It idled fine before this indecent now it starts hard and the idle bounces between about 500 & 1k rpm until I drive her for a bit... Any ideas?

                          A vacuum leak somewhere

Intake? Being the intake tube or the manifold? If you removed the manifold should replace gasket, if you only removed the tube then double check that the vacuum lines are seated properly and no clamps are lose

Only removed the tube I will check all vacuum lines in that area when I'm off work

Check for cracks and splits, even a minor crack can cause issues
