      A cost benefit that makes sense. There is a reason Datsun guys still don't by and large bother with aluminum engines. The cost vs. the performance doesn't add up. Never mind what it weighs over the other V8 option what does it weigh over the stock M20?

      How is your supply for the Ford 5.0L? I briefly considered this as a viable option for awhile especially as they've done the leg work for wiring for fuel injection.

        Don't forget to factor in the weight (and price!) of the T56 transmission. That's one of the big things holding up my LSx project, I have to save up the money to buy the trans next

            Looks to be about 112 lbs. Give or take.
            M20;

            Al LSx

            If you can't read that, it says 609lbs.

            Why even bother with a 5.0? A factory block in a performance car is just waiting until it cracks in half. It's an antiquate ECM with batch fire injection. Reliability is definitely there, as is cheapness of parts but you're going to spend a LOT of money just make similar power numbers to an LSx motor and get nowhere near the drivability.

                  That sort of negates the purpose of getting the cost down. (The M60) When I was looking into V8 swaps a good HO 302 was like complete $200.
