    Need Help With Bumper Mod!!!

Hey heard that I can drill out my bumper shocks and move my bumpers back a little bit? I have an '84 318i with the stock huge bumper lips. If anyone can direct me I'd love the input to make my car look better!

        WARNING: Drilling bumper shocks

The diving board shocks from an '88 2dr/4dr, and 88-91 convertibles are already somewhat tucked from factory. Also they are filled with a gel-like material so they don't explode oil out when you drill them. So if you have any convertibles around at the junk yard near you, you might consider swapping the shocks from that. It would be a little more work, having to remove the bumper and all, but it would be more straightforward and you wouldn't have to worry about getting oil sprayed in your face

I feel like 'just search it' is your go to response when you don't want to answer a question

Alex, your pretty new to the forums, you would think lots of ppl are mean, by their answers, but its because every new person joins and ask bunch of simple questions thats been answered million times, so then people will just reply that there is a SEARCH option, so another words : do the research first before a simple* question and if your still confused then ask and people here would always help!

              welcome to R3V! =]

Thanks Erik for using search tab ahhaha

Get drill, lay on ground, look directly at bumper shock, drill.

Repeat process on the other side as well as switching which eyeball you use to look directly at the bumper shock.

No need to drill them, just drive the car 20mph into a brick wall.

Instead, send me your good bumper shocks, and I will send you my tucked ones. I need to get the bumpers back out on the race car..

If you are interested in swapping, PM me. Straight trade.

be verrry carefull. put a rag or empty beer box over shock, the fluid is very hazardous

Buy bumper shocks from a convertible. They will be tucked but still be somewhat functional. If you drill your bumper shocks they will not function at all. So when somebody hits you, you will have body damage instead of just buying a new bumper shock. Drilling the shocks is retarded, don't do it.
