    Sunday anyone?
Pry under the rubber pad below the rear spring. It sits on a little nipple, once you get past it the spring falls off.

I was told by a fellow board member that I had to drop the diff a little.

All I needed to do was compress the springs and use a crowbar to pull the trailing arms down.

Removing the rear diff bolt does help. It lowers the CV shafts more allowing the trailing arms to lower more.

                    oil change:

                    step 1- loosen diff bolts.

Unless the springs are longer than stock e30, which is not the case, since you are installing H&R (lower/shorter?) springs.
Less likely you have H&R lowering springs for other BMW alike that is not e30 by any chance?

I'm surprised at this thread. The rear springs are just barely in there. Get the arms down as far as you can by removing the sway bar and shocks then use a small pry bar to pop them out if they are stuck. Seriously the easiest thing to remove on the back end.

Yeah, however, when is the last time you removed a stock spring... It's a little more of a challenge than taking out my 5" GC springs. Which literally fall out when I remove the shock.
