    Goodbye Portland, Hello Seattle!

Not that I was really in Portland, but I attempted to be when driving 70 miles was doable.

This weekend though I'll be moving to Seattle, the north part of Ballard to be a bit more precise. I hope to be a bigger part of the "Seattle" scene than I was a part of the Portland scene.

So, school me on what it means to own a BMW in Seattle. What do I need to know? Any localish events? Will I find the happenings here on r3v or does someone need to stick me on a mailing list? Hopefully you guys aren't socialized to death with the picnic and do stuff at other times of the year :)

sounds like you'll be in Crown Hill. dont leave anything in your car thats obvious. lots of break in there. they dont care that you have a BMW. also the Dicks gtg is minutes away from there. dont need to drive 70 miles to be at a gtg, just a few so no excuses. ask Paolo ;)

Agreed, lol. My impression of that area is a bunch of vegan volvo station wagon drivers that have the fence in the trunk for their dogs. :)

Great! I'm not social or free enough for "plenty", but I like knowing the guys in the area :)

I'm still getting my Seattle areas figured out, both standard naming and slang names. So I haven't a clue :)

Looks like crown hill is a tad bit north. I'm closer to 80th and 24th, within a frisbee throw or two of the Elementary school. My E30 is the track rat, but I'll keep an eye on the E46.

Casual observations of my area puts that about spot on. Lots of families around, of which I have not.

Thanks for the welcome and warnings about car safety. This country boy is going to have to start learning to lock his car, which will be a change :)
