    New to the E30 world.

Hey all, just got myself a E30 for the first time.
Just wanted to show it off as it starts, ill be doing some work to it.
Also wanted to ask a few questions reguarding M50 swaps.

So im sure lots of you have done M50 swaps to your E30's, and im sure you also have alot of spare parts laying around. So if anyone has any required parts that are not on an E30 or E36 ( i have a crashed one, engine, tranny, drivetran, suspension are all still good) it would be greatly appreciated if you could part ways with them, so name your price and please be friendly.

Also if anyone would like to give a hand with the swap when it comes time it would be awesome to have some kick back work time with you, ill supply the beer of course.

One other thing i'd like to ask for the meantime is; Ive heard that you can easily swap a 325i head onto a 325E (what i have) to give it more power. How has this worked for you? Is it really easy? Should i not waste my time with it?

You'll need an E34 oil pan, oil pickup tube, dipstick tube and dipstick, a harness adapter, E28 535/M5 engine mounts and an E21 or 325iX brake booster, just to name a few things. You can use your M50 (obviously,) your E36 engine harness, your E36 engine arms, your E36 exhaust (may take some modification to the firewall for stock exhaust,) your trans (depending on what you want to do in that department.)

Good luck to you on your build. Welcome to r3v. If you have any 24v swap questions, feel free to PM me and I will answer what I can.

Welcome. I would go the m50 swap route since you have most of what you need already. If your low on money you could sell what you have and go with the i head swap but I'm not familiar with what you could expect going that route. Either way it has been done a thousand times search around you will find a lot of what your looking for.

Yeah it makes me sad to think about, but im glad i stayed with BMW's, i was thinking about leaving them behind.

Origianlly i was going to buy an E30 before my E36 but the seller flaked, so now i get to go with the car i wanted in the first place.

I'm up in everett as well. I don't have any parts laying around, but I'd be more than happy to help out when the time came to work on the car.

Welcome! M50 swaps are the most common ones and there is thousands of threads on them and a lot of detailed ones that will list every part you need and the process. If you have most of the M50 parts i would go that way instead of doing the 325i head.
