    Not mine: cheap M54b30

Rebuild or use the parts to build a M50 stroker? Or maybe it just needs a new valve cover. Who knows. Most of the damage visible on the engine is mostly plastic trim like the valve cover and the engine mounts are broke. The only damage I can see to the metal is on the front where there's a screw bent out. I didn't have a breaker bar with to try to rotate it. A plug I pulled looked good and the oil smelled okay. It's in an 02 330i at the Sherwood, OR Pick-n-Pull. Transmission is automatic. Here's the VIN: WBAEV53492KM23067. I didn't do a carfax but a quick Google search comes up with some auction ads dated last August with about 143k miles.

Sorry for the crappy phone pix:

Austin... I'll give you $50 (on top of the crank cost) to pull the crank. I also need the turn signal stalk out of that car... I grabbed the mf steering wheel out of it on my way back from the dunes last week.

Does anybody know (or has tried) to use the m54 (2.5 or 3.0) block with a single vanos or non vanos head? Are they compatible? I have not seen one in pieces so I don't know if the water jackets & what not would line up, but it sure would be nice to have a alum block! Just throwing it out there guys...

Interested in the rotating assembly if you decide to take it apart.
