need a shop to drill out a broken bolt on CAB

One bolt snapped off at 50lbs when I was torquing down the CAB's.

is there a shop in seattle that would be good to take my car to so they can replace the bolts and fix the one that broke off?

50lbs is too much, but I'm still surprised you broke it.... sorry for not being helpful at all

I know... I misread a DIY and mistook nm with lbs. now I know 35lbs is what I should have had them at.

If you have a center punch and can find a some Left hand drill bits you may be able to do it yourself. A guy I used to work with had some, I was skeptical till he let me use the bits a couple times.

Hey I broke off both of my CAB bolts in the frame while changing a ditch accident :3

Anyway, all it took for me is a screw extractor kit and a drill. (harbor freight, drill was like 25$ extractor kit like 10$)

It was pretty easy to tell you the truth, choose a bit smaller than the bolt (use a punch or be careful lining it center on the bolt), and drill in about 1/4in or as much as you'd like and use the extractor that is slightly larger than the drilled hole and pound it in the drilled out hole. Then use vice grips or something to grab onto the extractor and twist the B out!

Took me maybe 10-15 minutes to extract both bolts.. Hope it helps (if you plan on giving it a shot yourself) ;)

did you heat it at all or just drill it and use the extractor?

how deep in did the bolt broke off? if its not too deep you can cut a line through the bolt and use a flat head to get it out.

Dude I told you. Drill and screw extractor. A screw extractor is a drill bit attached to the drill

thanks... i know what a drill extractor is... I was asking him if he heated his before using it.

anyway, It broke off about 1/4in in so I think ill have to center punch it then use an extractor. I just dont have a torch

I did the same thing, Broke one in the drivers side, I just drilled with a reverse bit but make you still straight if you do it yourself.
