I really wish I had the time to help you man. I hope you get this thing buttoned up and start driving it. Did you call those shops?

I haven't contacted any shops in my area yet. I'm trying to find someone that's willing to come and help me in my garage. That'd be really awesome! If I can't find anyone, I'll then look into shops... :/

I've gotten some quotes from Aamco before and they're just way overpriced.
Well, at least the ones in my area... :/

Shop prices are shop prices, honestly if it's broken just rip it apart and fix it. I used to be scared to do stuff myself but I busted my car by putting off jobs wanting help.
Then when I could do no more harm I just went for it grew a set and asked stupid questions and and cried when I wanted give up and then for some reason my friends came through. Haha

It took me a whole summer to do a head gasket/top end rebuild in my apartment's parking lot. Did I finish it? Yes. Did it take forever? Yes. Did I learn a hell of a lot? Yes. Did I save money? Hell yes.

Now I'm starting my first motor swap because my eta blew up. I had the motor out in two days, and the m50 unhooked from the parts car in 4 days. I'd say I'm getting better at wrenching every time I go out to the garage, and learning a ton.

I think half the fun of owning an e30 (or any classic, for that matter) is when it breaks and you get to learn how to fix it, drink some beer, and get the job done. Then enjoy the smugness you feel when you lower it back down and take it for a drive. Every time I get into my car, I know that I've turned every wrench on it to keep it on the road. That makes the drive so much better. Of course, the other half of owning an e30 is how it looks and drives!
