Feeler: Need a rear window install

I'm looking to replace my rear windshield as I have a crack in mine. I went to the junker and bought myself a pretty clean one. I'd like to replace it, but I called A1 Glass here in Corvallis and they wanted about $160....is that normal???

I was hoping it would be a lot cheaper considering I have the glass. I do have an early model so I'm unsure if my chrome trim is reusable.

Does anyone know of a place within the Portland, Eugene or even better, the Corvallis area that can replace my rear window for a good price? I am a lowly college student just trying to take care of his car :)

Or if someone has come across a good write up for replacement or knows the best way to replace it then I'd be willing to attempt to reinstall it myself assuming I dont need any fancy, expensive tools to do the job.

    Thanks a lot!

I didn't even use the lock strip tool. A new late model black lock strip from bmw (it's two part numbers FYI). Soap, and a combination of flat head screw driver/credit card. Only took a half hour or so?

There are places where you can get glass + install for $180. DIY ftw.
