Another 20 bucks every time I buy a car. %#@$#!!!!
No exception for gifting a vehicle by a charity to a person in need or to a charitable organization either. No good deed goes untaxed.1990 325is "the rat"/ E30 Warsteiner tribute racecar/1985 325e "faded Glory"/ 1968 Chevy II Nova "the baby"/ 2001 525i 5spd purchased May 2013 with 16k miles. A different way to earn more tax money.
Looks like they eliminated the plate replacement requirement that people get new plates every ~7 years though.1988 BMW 325iX - Lachssilber/Cardinal - Gone

That, at least, makes some SENSE. Different owner, different plate, and the plate can stay with the owner, not the vehicle.
The FUCKING 7 year rule was utter bullshit. Just because the damned plates faded in Arizona doesn't mean they fade here. I have some that are 20+ years old, and they glitter almost like new.
Ok, I'm gonna go take a pill now. But this is better news...
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george gravesComment

Nevada has had this process in place for many years. Only thing I dont like is they want you to turn em (plates) in if you dont register the vehicle that you own. So if I store my vehicle for a year and dont register they actually want the plates back and will pro rate any registration fees that have already been paid during that year.
At least thats my understanding. I just keep all vehicles registered so I dont have to deal with the back and forth.Comment

I'm excited. No more parking ticket, good to go or red light bills because the ass hole didn't want to register the carComment

If an extra $20 breaks the bank when buying a new car then don't buy it. Besides it's poor people who believe the taxaholics and vote them in. If anything dislike those ignorant people. Besides I use to have my cars registered at my dads so I didn't hAve to do emissions on a car with no cat. So I had to pay an extra $15 for a road repair tax in a city 300 miles away. Not a big deal. They're just going with the flow. As other states have done.
Also blame government employees. Average salary is $60k there while in the private is $40k. Less taxes being paid to pay higher paid employees salaries and pensions. Also baby boomer gen is 100 million while gen x, and y is 45 mill. More taking out than paying into taxes. It's all government stupidity.Comment
