/politics /whiny old government employees like me.

There are some really whacky exceptions in Washington traffic law. You don't have
to have valid tabs to go get an emissions test (someone please quote that one for me)
but how the hell you prove to the fine fine officer that you were just going to do that,
    I have no idea.

And you can turn left on red onto a one- way street.

And we didn't have to have insurance until 1994.

And I'm sure there are more, involving both horses and whores.

Technically, you cannot operate a motor vehicle on the public roadways with expired tabs, there is no exception for "Oh, I'm just going to get an emissions test officer"

The left turn on red to a one -way street rule is confusing as well, I don't see that one very often. The various rules about School zones is a gotcha sometimes, You have to pay attention to the signs at each zone because they differ for each zone. I still don't understand exactly what an unmarked crosswalk is either.

I live on a street with 8 houses on it, in a backwater of an isolated neighborhood, we are literally separated from the rest of the city by a bridge, yet I have received several warnings about parking my truck and trailer overnight in front of the house. At least they haven't caught me driving the racecar onto the trailer in the street yet!

Maybe they are letting me off because I'm a freeloading baby-boomer?

This is how we have been doing it for years.
You buy the car, take a trip to the insurance agency, transfer ownership, pay taxes on purchase price(fuckers), get insurance in your name with new plates or a temp permit to get it home.

Ha, thats another one- you get 30 days to add a car to your existing insurance policy.

Its wild wild west out here.
