    OBC Display Light panel

I recently bought a OBC conversion kit for my car. It is all installed, but I discovered the light for the LCD screen is burned out. It is removable from the back side. A little circuit board with two bulbs soldered to it. BMW wants over $100 for this tiny part ! Has anyone repaired one of these by soldering on new bulbs ? I'm not sure the wattage of the tiny bulbs. They are connected in series.

I think Garagistic sells them, but I could be mistaken...

Correct. Garagistic sells the LED upgraded light panel for $28. This is what I just ordered.

E30HV also points out you can order the original type bulb and solder them in. The bulbs are about a buck a piece. Here is the part #

Eiko 42400 - 7328 Miniature Automotive Light Bulb.

Next question: What does that Coding Module do on the back of the OBC ? Will the OBC work without it ?

I'm assuming it's for fuel usage info to gauge miles to travel before empty. So it would depend on the motor that the 13 button was "attached" to previously. You could "plug" the part number into Realoem and see.
