Just bought an e30 M3 in NM and going to drive it back to Seattle!

So i finally took the plunge into the e30 m3 world. :D I am extremely excited to be the soon-to-be new owner of a 1989 Zinnoberrot M3. Loan papers are currently en route and im set to fly down and pick it up next weekend once everything works out.

It needs a little work but i think its in overall great mechanical shape, little over 105 on the chassis and it sports a fresh build with a turner 2.5 kit ~8k ago. The PO to the PO was a little over ambitious in the styling and aero department and stupidly shaved the door handles, so that needs fixing, as well as the hood antenna, and windshield washer sprayers. All fixable things tho. Here are the for sale threads from PO:

    http://s14net.vbulletin.net/forum/s1...zinnoberrot-m3

Im planning to fly down on the 9th and drive it back. On my way back, im hoping to make a small detour to Vegas and SLC and generally take it easy. I don't want to push the car too hard, but its in great mechanical shape.

Heres the route im planning on taking

Anyone have any experience with the turner kit? Im hoping to have the body panels fixed back to stock. I need to swing it by Haurys or Pacific first thing when i bring it back.

Any advice would be appreciated, i have owned e30's for several years now but i'm pretty foreign to the m3's.

Saw that car, highly considered it for a hot minute, but decided to stick with my other three money pits. Congratulations.

Do you have to go via Vegas? There is a quicker and much more entertaining route to take.

You won't be too far from the Grand Canyon if that is not already on itinerary.

No don't have to but i've never been before so i figured why not, haven't really explored the SW at all really. The car kind of looks like a clown car now with all the bondo, no door handles and the unpainted evo lip so Vegas might not be the best choice. If there's a better, more scenic route to take, im open to suggestions

How close would it be, Im really not that familiar with the southwest, but i'd love to stop by the canyon, would make for a great photo-op too hehe
