how to remove evo lip from m3

    Hi all,

I am trying to remove the evo2 lip that came on my m3. It was installed correctly it looks like and is pretty sucure on the front bumper, but am just unsure as the the official way to remove them.

From running my hand behind the bumper, it seems there are several nuts that secure some metal clips to the bumper and the lip, but these nuts are really small, smaller than 8mm. Does anyone know what size these are, and how many clips attach the lip to the bumper? And are there any other attachment points that hold the lip on after these nuts come off?

I like the lip and it looks like an original one, but the plan going forward is to paint it first and then reinstall, but im not there yet. I think it looks much better sans lip for now.

    Thanks!

Take the 18mm socket to take the 2 nuts off holding the bumper on. Then you can look what bolts they used on evo 2 chin.

Been so long since I did mine, I can't remember how many nuts there are. I do remember it's way easier to remove the bumper first.

I used this write up as a starting point for my install http://www.s14.net/installs/evo2install.html They call out 13 holes that needed to be drilled.

Easy, find a really tall parking block... J/K If they used the right hardware, there should be 7-9 10mm plastic nuts securing the top and then maybe 2 screws/nuts on each corner.
