    Seattle: Drive shaft questions

Any E30 drivers around the east side area know any reputable shops to get their driveshaft u joints re placed?

Also i have read that some shops use cheap u joints as a replacement
any one ever buy the oem joint off pelican?

I know people have used Driveline NW in the past with good results. Haven't heard anything lately

Yes. I have a replacement u- joint spider in a box somewhere.
But I'm still not set up with the tooling to bore out the old one, and
      re- stake it into place!

Might try Driveline Service of Portland. They have done several
for me in the past, and I've been happy with their custom work.
Did hear a rumor that they don't do fixed u- joints any more,
      but never confirmed it.

now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

They outsource to driveline services of portland for BMW shafts. Might as well cut out their markup and go directly with portland. I used them about 7 years ago and my driveshaft has held up great (including several track days and 300whp) with rebuildable ujoints.

Called Driveline service of portland its 400 with a 90 dollar core, shipped to my house; for a new shaft but doesn't come with a replaceable u joint. Man on the phone said the guy who was doing the replaceable units retired and shortly after passed away.. :[
