obviously the only solution is if we all pitch in equal amounts - steal the car, take to shop and post the results.

smonk, don't you know where he lives? you should organize this from here..

/\ probably has a CA Rebuilt title and brought it up here, registered as clean. it happens all the time and there is no way around it. the title may show CA Branded title somewhere but no one knows for sure with out a CarFax.

there is no speculation, other people have drove it and posted about it on BimmerForums.do the body panels line up? it was posted the trunk and hood were way off and rubbing the body panels next to them. why was the car painted at 120k? why is the drivers seat trashed? why are the kidneys missing? why is the bumper trim missing? these are parts that get replaced after being in a accident. do the vin #s match up on the body panels? the idling issue and randomly dying could have been fixed via a new ecu/chip. but i still wonder about the rest of the car.

if the new owner of this car found it difficult or expensive to work on a 86 i dont see how owning a 97 is going to fix anything.

needless to say the handling of the purchase this car should be stickied as to what NOT to do i.e. having the car inspected AFTER it was bought etc.

exactly!!!! 97 e36 m3 2drs do NOT sell for that cheap up here. maybe in SoCal with twice the miles. i want to know what a reputable euro shop will say about this car after inspecting it. im sure the owner wont post up the findings though.

Nope, i dident even pop the hood. Im just saying it might not be as much of a pile as everyone is saying. My co-worker went to look at it and he said it was alot worse than what i saw today.

I saw it in person today. Dident see anything wrong with it. It was missing the kidneys and front bumper trim but watson told me he was going to replace it. Sounded find and dident make any noises. Paint wasent as bad as i had herd too, could use a polish though. Thought i should bring some first hand knowledge into this thread of speculation.

yea sell eric the fogs and Ill buy the HID kit. Or if you would have researched first, you would know they could have been used in the e36.
