I know it's likely a bit more inland, but I hear Lolo Pass is supposed to be an awesome 100 miles or so. I'd like to check it out this summer.

Last night I sold my car. I live in North Bend and delivered it to the new owner in Bellingham. Needless to say, I took the long way hitting all of my favorite drives!
Started at the base of Mt. Si

Went 202-203 into Monroe and Hwy 9 up through Mt Vernon. Ended with the sun setting on Chuckanut.

It was a fitting and heart warming end to a long relationship. With my e30 and some of the best roads in western wa!Comment

On the way to SOAK last week, I discovered hwy 34 (the Alsea Highway). West of Corvallis, it's a downright breathtaking drive, complete with banked hairpins and all kinds of fun nonsense. I spent the whole drive wishing (for the first time since I got it) I wasn't in my Datsun 720.
EDIT: Go drive it. Right now. Do it.Comment

Ah yes. And the climb up to Mary's Peak is pretty great, right off of 34. 3500 ft of elevation gain is tons of fun as long as you don't get stuck behind a Kia. Plus the views are awesome since it's the highest point in the coast range (see the shitty cellphone pic in my sig).On the way to SOAK last week, I discovered hwy 34 (the Alsea Highway). Just drove Chuckanut Drive for the first time in my new e30. It was everything I've dreamed of...
I've got my eye on Highway 20 up to Diablo Lake for a sunny day. There's also a paved forest road called Suiattle River Road (Forest Road 26 I think) off of Highway 530, off of Highway 20. Empty + nice pavement + S curves = amazing. Take a buddy though if you decide to check it out, cause there's no cell service.

Did this today. Took Barnes to Skyline and rode OR-219 the whole way down to Newburg. On the way back we took 210 to Hillsboro. My son loved it, wife didn't mind, and baby #2 does a lot of kicking around when I'm driving spiritedly (wife is 7 months preggers). What a gorgeous day! This patch of OR-219 is fucking glorious.sigpic
