    don't worry about the stiffness of the springs, worry about the valving of your shocks.

    FWIW Konis WILL ride smoother. it's just the nature of twintube vs monotube.. the bilsteins are much stiffer in the first part of their travel which is what you'll experience most on the street.

    also, running konis in their softest setting doesn't neccesarily equal a soft ride. You are adjusting the shocks ability to control the spring, so if you adjust it too soft it may be unable to properly control the spring resulting in a bouncy, uncomfortable ride. Changing the valving has almost no effect at all on compression so you won't notice much difference hitting a pothole.
