Still closed from the rockslide to Tabcat bridge, reopening next week. If the stars align between my car functioning, the road being open, and THP being lazy, I may actually get to come this year. No need for a campsite for me anyway.

So it is open but not at night? Is the other side in NC open? I don't quite understand the the article. If the slide is fixed then the road is open. Why is 'The Dragon' affected at all? The slide was outside the wooded area of 'The Dragon' anyways. Another excuse for extra traffic enforcement though... we will have to watch out. Other roads are better anyways.

They're concerned about rockslides in the area or something, so they want to completely fix it before re-opening.

According to that article, it will be open from 8AM to 8PM, but only from the NC side all the way down to the BIG gravel pulloff (it's now nice and paved, but probably wasn't last time) right before the lake. Just a suggestion: perhaps the group should consider moving to Fontana Village or one of the campgrounds on the NC side for easier access.

We've done this many years and many ways... Look Rock is the best campground for this group... We will likely just use other roads if they aren't finished by then...

I agree.. I'm kinda looking forward to more open roads. The Dragon is not as fun as it was when we could get up early and beat the THP. Now they get there before the sun comes up.

Hopefully they'll have it cleared up proper by the time of the rally. It seems like they're moving quicker than originally thought.

I just got a txt from Matt.. Him, Tristan and some others will be camping at Look Rock May 13th - 16th...


he is planning to come to the Rally also but was doing this So Tristan could get an outing since he will be on call during the rally...

I am planning to go up there during that time for a night or so... Any one care to join in?
