They're concerned about rockslides in the area or something, so they want to completely fix it before re-opening.

According to that article, it will be open from 8AM to 8PM, but only from the NC side all the way down to the BIG gravel pulloff (it's now nice and paved, but probably wasn't last time) right before the lake. Just a suggestion: perhaps the group should consider moving to Fontana Village or one of the campgrounds on the NC side for easier access.

So it is open but not at night? Is the other side in NC open? I don't quite understand the the article. If the slide is fixed then the road is open. Why is 'The Dragon' affected at all? The slide was outside the wooded area of 'The Dragon' anyways. Another excuse for extra traffic enforcement though... we will have to watch out. Other roads are better anyways.

Still closed from the rockslide to Tabcat bridge, reopening next week. If the stars align between my car functioning, the road being open, and THP being lazy, I may actually get to come this year. No need for a campsite for me anyway.

With dad in Veteran's care and all the prts I've been slinging on the forums and eBay I was able to free up some cash to get back into the game sooner than I thought... Though I'm kinda sure I'm gonna flip the E46.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

'Little' knowledge allows those 'with' a little to triumph. :p

How many people walk into two rides in one day? :pimp:
Glad you're gettin (sic) back on the horse man.

Not really.. This is going to be my new project car. Its about to get stripped down to the frame for a full resto so it won't be making an appearance this rally.

The 2k 328ic I got because it cranks but won't fire up. Owner took it to a small redneck shop who removed the plastic engine cover, removed a coil pack, listened to the engine and determined that the timing "was probably off" then quoted the PO a $5000 repair bill.

Once I fix whichever sensor has gone bad it should be a nice ride.

Let Jimmah lead the way he knows all the good back roads.

I just picked up 2 nice little Bimmer treasures. A red 1989 325is for $800 and a 2000 328ci for $2500. Between the 2 I should surely have somethig road worthy by June.

Last week I spoke to the head of the visitors bureau and she said that the rock slide should be cleaned up ahead of schedule.
