Perfect. You can get to foothills parkway. It will mean we won't do the 'normal' first drive in the early AM down the dragon. Will be 'weird'. By the time we get there we might still be able to go that way...

I thought it was farther from the dragon? Is heading east towards The Dragon, foothills parkway will be on your left. Is it before or after foothills parkway?

So if that is the case we have to enter foothills from the 'other side' so I don't know where I am going. I have memorized the 'normal' route in :(

I was under the impression it was passed the dragon, near the foothills pkwy. So, you go through the dragon but have to turn around because there's no way to get through.

edit: yeah, anyone who's been to the dragon will realize that video is not anywhere close to the state line. the road is way too open and straight.

Also, looks like they're still saying July 31 or something as the deadline to be open but there are "huge bonuses" to the contractor to get it done early. Whether that will mean by early June or not is hard to say. Apparently US129 is closed at the TN state line so we'll just have to drive the skyway and all the other great roads in NC.

Question... So apparently the road leading to 'the dragon' is closed. From the video I saw it appears the rockslide is before foothills parkway coming from that side. Is this true? If so how do i get there? rofl
