Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, if you do criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
It takes hundreds of nuts to hold a car together,
but it takes only one of them to scatter it all over the highway.

Question... So apparently the road leading to 'the dragon' is closed. From the video I saw it appears the rockslide is before foothills parkway coming from that side. Is this true? If so how do i get there? roflComment

In case no one saw this yet... (right after the rock slide...)
Also, looks like they're still saying July 31 or something as the deadline to be open but there are "huge bonuses" to the contractor to get it done early. Whether that will mean by early June or not is hard to say. Apparently US129 is closed at the TN state line so we'll just have to drive the skyway and all the other great roads in NC.Last edited by BlueBMW; 03-28-2010, 04:51 PM.'88 325ic - Vert in winter baby!

So if that is the case we have to enter foothills from the 'other side' so I don't know where I am going. I have memorized the 'normal' route in :(Comment

edit: yeah, anyone who's been to the dragon will realize that video is not anywhere close to the state line. the road is way too open and straight.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

I thought it was farther from the dragon? Is heading east towards The Dragon, foothills parkway will be on your left. Is it before or after foothills parkway?
Where is it on here?

Perfect. You can get to foothills parkway. It will mean we won't do the 'normal' first drive in the early AM down the dragon. Will be 'weird'. By the time we get there we might still be able to go that way...
"Concurrent with rock slope repairs,
maintenance and protection of traffic will require preparation of temporary lanes of roadway to
facilitate movement of traffic past the rock slope once the scaling and rock removal activities have been
completed."
I hope so. I do like to ride through the dragon once at night.Comment
