We could start the first run around 7:00, it might be hard to get everyone food and good and awake before that. Red Bull FTW!!!Leave a comment:

Hi guys we have decided to bump the start of the driving saturday to earlier to try and get in about 2 or 3 morning dragon runs. Hopefully this way we will be able to have some fun on the dragon before the police start to show up in the area. (this time may change I'm doing some research right now with locals to figure out what time the TN cops have been starting to setup shop)Leave a comment:

Official Camping Site - Look Rock Information
Here is the camp site information for the E30 South East Rally
This past weekend I found one campsite called Look Rock that can accomodate us that is 5-10 mins from the Dragon and the Chillohowee Lake / River.
The Low Down
I talked to the campsite ranger and he and his wife are cool as hell. The only major rule I was warned about is that we can't be loud and carrying on after 10AM. They have 3 very nice bathroom facilities and the campsite are clean and close to together.

Campsite Registration:
It's $14 per night per site - 2 cars per campsite - 6 people per site and you must pitch atleast one tent but you are not required to sleep in it. Their is additional parking next to the ranger's station if 6 people want to go in on a site but can't park all their cars there. I have circled all the best campsite on the campsite map. The campsite is pretty dead this time of year so don't be worried about not having a spot once you arrive. **If you would like me to reserve your campsite for you on Friday when I get there PM me before the 14th.
Camping Out:
There is one picnic table and fire pit at each site.

The Weather
It was 96 in Knoxville Saturday and 82 at Look Rock. At the top of Cherohala Skyway it was 72. Camping should be comfortable the entire weekend.
The Fuzz
They are EVERYWHERE right now. We counted damn near 20 in less than 5 miles. DO NOT cross the lines and DO NOT even think of going over 35. If this is your first time take it slow, learn the roads, and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Maps and More Info
Here is a map and brochure for the campsite with the best sites cirlced in red.

Be on the lookout for the 5-0 in Tennessee....

"NHP is conducting saturation enforcement every weekend on the 9 mile section of Hwy 129 for the rest of this month. Utilizing at least 10 patrol cars and/or bikes a day, and scrutinizing anyone and anything that legally drives by them. They will even pull you over without just cause, and inspect your vehicle then release you back onto the roadway for the next LEO around the corner to do it all over again."

Camping info
For who ever wants to the main group will be camping at Look rock campground of foot hills parkway on the TN side of the dragon(robertK will be posting more info about the campground later), but we need an accurate head count of who will be camping and joining in for the BBQ(please plan on chipping in $5 or so to cover the cost of food)
For everyone coming I ask that you read this http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_howtodrive.html
We want every one to have a safe and fun weekend, so please drive at your own pace, there are plenty of stopping points for you to catch back up to the group if you need to travel at a slower pace. If somebody behind you is going faster, just pull over and let them go by, don't try to push the limits to keep ahead of them. There is a good bit of law enforcement presence at the dragon so keep an eye on your speed, they are more concerned about cracking down on lane crossing and unsafe acts versus speeders so keep that in mind.
