    Arizona registration advice

Hey guys, I'm about to move to Phoenix and I have a few questions about registering my car there.

The car is still in the PO's name. The tags are very expired. I do have the title and a bill of sale. What I need to know is:

    1. do the California registration fees need to be paid?
    2. are a title and a bill of sale enough for me to register the car in Arizona?

    Thanks in advance!

Well in tucson all you would need isd the bill of sale with the title. And for emissions you could register the car as a classic car and be exempt. As for the fees i have no clue.

There are emissions in Phoenix. Don't expect them to be anything like California.

I'm not worried about emissions, I know it will pass. I just need to know if the paperwork I have is okay even though the title still has the PO's name on it.

Get it notorized and fill out the back saying you bought the car.

100% sure that's required? I know Arizona requires that if it's an AZ title but I didn't read anything saying it was needed for an out of state purchase

all you need is the title (notarized), then the car will have to go through out of state inspection, then emissions and you're good to go. i doubt you'll have to mess with any past due fees in cali.

I imported my Mexican 2005 CR-V with the unnotarized title and docs from the border station that inspected it. Easy peasy.

AZ MVD is 1,0000000 x more efficient than CA DMV. You get in and out with licenses, plates etc in under an hour.
