I have an ix I am thinking out selling. It needs paint and a rear driveline, and a little tlc. I swapped the engine, with a lower mileage engine (about 140k) and I have a bunch of spare parts. This is a feeler, but I will post pics next wekend. The car and I are both in north central texas. Title is clean Oregon, with good tags until august 2014. I am about $7500 in to this car. I would like maybe half that. Anyone interested? Just in spare.parts alone I could make a couple grand. This is a package deal. I have the old engine, trans, transfer case, front diff, radiator, and other small parts and stuff. How bout it?

how are you going to sell anything without pix? you don't even say whether its manual or auto? are your extra parts manual or auto? is it a coupe or sedan? how did you not put this stuff in your ad to begin with? when you say 7500, does that include the money you paid in labor to do repairs? if so, you will never get that back unfortunately. spending that amount of money should have netted you a pretty much pristine car.

no matter what you have invested, it would be pretty hard to get 3.5k out of an ix with bad paint that "needs rear driveline" or whatever that means.

is the car rust free? is the body straight? is it manual? these are the points you need to focus on if you indeed plan to sell.

without more info and judging from what you posted, this sounds kind of like a 1500.00 car. perhaps it would be best to just sell your extra parts off separately?

i don't mean to bash. i love ix's and am looking for another one. perhaps you should start over?

I have to agree. Please post more details and pics. Coupe? Sedan? Man or auto? Crucial info.

Also condition when you bought it, what you've done to it, what remains to be done..

There are lots of hard core IX people on this forum that would be interested

As I said before I will post pics shortly, I work and dont have pics taken yet. The car is a standard, coupe, I did all the work myself with the assistance of a 15 plus year bmw tech. So that meant I spend almost nothing on labor.
Also why would you buy an auto e30?
The driveline has a crack in the u-joint, which is not serviceable. I am looking into having one made. and if you know anything about the ix they are a rare car. to find one with under a 140k on the engine is almost unheard of.

Yeah I know... I have a bad vacuum leak and the car isnt running right . I has a very rough idle and wont rev so I need to figure out what the issue is so I can get it running right again. Right now I can get very good pics where its parked.

Also I can trailer the car to a buyer if need be. I can borrow a trailer and use my roommates truck to tow with in 200 miles of 76450, more for the right price.

Yeah I had a guy in portland that was gonna wrap it for $500, but then I heard about a pro painter that worked out of his house so I was saving up but it never happened. Im trying to get back to portland and am done dealing with the car. I will get another one in the future, when I can drop ten grand...
