what we really need is for someone with the time and energy to compile a mailing list of all our current active DFW E30'ers, i.e. everyone submit your e-mail to gringo or whoever wants to take initiative, so that after we arrange this meet & greet, we can just have that mailing list established for times like this, and once we decide what the monthly or whatever event is, we can just send out a mass email. By the way, Strikes in Frisco has bowling and pool and what have you, and once a month they have a little "car show", nothing huge, but it's a free event to go look at old cars from 60's vettes to 1st gen 300zx's. Everyone kind of just hangs out in the parkinglot with lawn chairs, they hand out awards or something... we'd need to contact them but maybe someone who has a much nicer E30 than me could enter and everyone else could come hang out and show support some time.

Anyways, I voted lake. Once we get this cassual one out we can attempt bigger and better things, like the little car show at Strikes. I'm sure plenty of us will be doing HIN just to go see girls and maybe a few cars that don't suck. I have a free ticket already plus I am a sucker for plastic snap shut bags full of pamplets and goodies from car shows hahaha.

ray roberts is nice, but we should get the first meet out of the way close by I think. And by the way, as long as everyone is 18+ we could go to the strip club, the hilarious part about it is this. In the greats ate of Texas, a strip club/bar can serve alcohol in house but only be a topless bar and be 21+ only, however it can be 18+ if they don't serve alcohol, and those are BYOB and full nudity. Example, The Clubhouse, Dimebag Derrel's old joint over off 35 and "Manyana" (spanish name spelt Manana).

I don't feel like going to a strip club for a sausage fest car meet though, I was just letting all of you know.

If people are up for ray roberts and it's going to be just like 5 cars, then I'm sure those of us commited would be willing to trek up 35 in a pack, E30 caravan style. I think we just need a place by a lake to hang out, grill, and cruise for a bit through some scenic roads.

Alright, i thought this would appose a problem. Not all of us are 21 or older. I wouldn't suggest putt putt over a strip club. I would rather have the bbq either at someones private property that has a big enough area to park our cars, than a parking lot in some restaurant to piss off other people and the server. (10 different tabs is spelling trouble... they cant keep up with who wants what and how its supposed to be, believe me)

i mentioned the lake off 820, because of many simple obvious reasons.
    1. Parking: for the ones who have been to a boat launch... we can easily fit our cars in the parking lot and still stay out of the way of the boaters/trucks+trailers. plus if we get all our cars together on a line or half circle, we can take group shots... which would be badass...
    2. accessibility: it has a park. this park is easy accessible to the road, the water, and the parking lot. this means the ones who wana drink, can sit back on a lawn chair, get some sun and down a few, and the ones who wana fish can fish (for fish you cant eat btw lol), and the ones who wana play some horse shoes, or kick a ball around can chill out.
    3. twisties: now have a bbq meet, with a place to spread out and chill, right off a road known for its twisties. its not the longest road, but hell, its awesome. if you can hit it doing 50+, you got balls. its mostly smooth, some blind corners, 2 lanes wide... great spots to take action shots as well...
    4. police: we will be away from major roads, public places and people. this isnt a very big advertised area. if were just minding to ourselves, the police will roll on by.
I can understand people saying a bar, or pool hall, or club, or sit down and eat... but keep in mind, this isnt gonna be 3 or 4 of us (hopefully!), if its who said they want to join, were looking at 6 to 8 cars. minimum of 6 people, maximum of 32 (if it was just 8 cars full of 4 people)... i dont want this to be a stricly r3v members meet. bring the girlfriend/wife or multiple hot chicks (coughlegalhottiescough).

we can go to sit down joints and eat when we decide to go to the beach. haha. :nice:

Who wants to host?
I could try to talk my bro into hosting (large house with pool etc in the backyard) By going to a "place" though, we evade the sword environment.. That is all. I don't care either way. Just throwing ideas out there. I'm all for a meet.

I think a BBQ by the lake or something would be best, just grill up some burgers and chicken and what not, cost us all less than a restaurant, and we won't have to tip or get 10 different checks and piss off our waiter.
yeah, that was the Duke's I was referring too... Your idea also sounds good. We could meet at Sneaky Pete's on Lake Lewisville... However that place, I believe, is also over 21. So maybe we should wait for everyone to go through
