this is what i've heard (quoting another customer):
Mike Shiffer is the New York Chapter BMW CCA's Tips Rep, and his knowledge is vast AND deep, particular on BMWs made in the 20th Century. He is as honest as the day is long. He don't come cheap, but you can be sure it will be done right. His colleagues are great, too!
They might do top notch work, but their prices are a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I was quoted $1500 to change a timing belt/water pump/therm. He tried to justify the price saying he would change the drive belts also.
I'm sure they have a ton of experience with all sorts of BMW's, but they aren't guten, and guten charges a whole lot less.
