Philly Art Museum Meet! Saturday May 11th 2013

Trying to get together another Philly Art Museum E30/Bimmer Meet.

All cars welcome, lets see who's interested and get a date set. Let me know guys!

Starting time TBD, It'll be an evening meet. The art museum closes at 530 on saturdays figure the lots will open up between 630-700pm. We can meet at one of the larger parking lost on either west river drive or kelly drive and cruise from there to the land of the cheese steak. Everyone seems split between Geno's and Pats, if you've never been, they're right across the street from one another, try both!?( i like geno's)

we can hang out and munch on our phallic meat sammiches then return to the fairmount area. Drive around the river loop(it's only about 8.3 miles, to end up at the museum) Stopping at some of the lots where we can take some nice pictures of our group or individual cars on the river and in front of bridges.

We'll head up the back lot and loop to the top of the steps. there are a bunch of parking spots on either side of the steps, and probably 15-20 cars cold actually fit across the top of the stairs.

The lot loops around to the back of the museum, with lots of parking on the sides, and a decent sized open lot in the back.

The Sun sets on the 11th at 8:04 so we could time this to get awesome sunset pics around the river, or at the top of the museum. The museum faces East-south east so we'd get some awesome shots up top. The river has some cool bridges and nice reflections during that time as well.

I'd like input on what you guys are thinking sunset around the river or museum.

I figure we'd meet around 530 to make sunset up top, or 630 to sunset around the river. If it seems that more people can't make it that early, then we'll get some good night shots since the lighting is pretty good in the city. The picture of my car is a long exposure taken around 11pm. If people have to meet later and want good sunset shots, we can always get steaks after.

    Info Here;

I've got about 3-4 people i know would go, and probably another 2-3 who might. Just some friends. A black 325i vert, a red "is", a sick blue e36 328i, a boosted e34 535i, my 89 turbo vert, would most likely all make it.

I also have a few other's who'd be interested but might not come out, including a 55 chevy with a built 350 in it.

This should be a great time!

Potentially the first weekend in May. I have more updated info on the e30tech post...

I'd love to do a weekday evening meet, but i think that if we stick to weekends there could be more out of town-ers. Tough to get out of work early enough to make the voyage.

A little update, There are 5 people interested here and 2 on e30tech, Plus me and about 6-10 friends of mine(i think), and one of the e30tech guys said he's got a few people who'd probably be in.

this looks like it could be a great get together

Anyone have a date they'd like to see?

How does Saturday May 11th sound to everyone? was suggested by someone on e30tech, who said he might have a few other cars with him.

IF that works with everyone interested here, we'll make that the official.

                          Let do this!

I don't know how often you guys come to philly art museum area, I pass by there almost everyday. On any given weekend, parking is not that great especially in a meet. Locals would drive their car 2 blocks there just to jog and bike. The Kelly Drive is a nice road to drive though. I would like to suggest meet in a remote location somewhere in a shopping center (IKEA have plenty parking) and then take a drive onto the Kelly Drive and around the museum. For those who like to visit the museum, find a spot and enjoy.
