the fuel pump on my car is very loud and i was wondering if this is normal. i just put the motor in the car and this is my first time driving an m42 car.

You shouldn't be able to hear it over the engine I would say. A loud pump is indication that it is going out. -

Agreed! A loud pump is one that is having to work too hard (clogged filter or obstructed fuel lines) or a dying pump.
