    Clutch Replacement

I'm checking through BMA auto parts and trying to figure out exactly what I need to replace the clutch on my 1991 318is. I'm probably going to replace the flywheel as well (VAC probably). So...who can give me the 411 on this?

If you are going to go to BMA, call them, ask for Patrick. They will set you up with what you need. If you are going to be in there, might as well do the rear main seal and consider doing the tranny seals as well. Consider whehter the guibo and CSB might need replacing as well.

Just to clarify TJ's post, this stuff isn't really necessary. Obviously replace the seals if they are leaking, replace the guibo if its cracked. I wouldn't replace the slave as preventative maintenance, its easy enough to do if/when it fails. Its not necessary to replace the pressure plate bolts, but you should use new flywheel bolts. You should torque the flywheel and pressure plate bolts. You may also want to replace the clutch fork pivot if it is worn. And don't forget to grease the pivot points on the fork.

As far as the Guibo is concerned, if it's not cracked just let it sit in some motor oil overnight or for a few days. Makes it look and feel as if it were brand new.

I meant flywheel bolts, not pressure plate. My bad.
