E30 m3 wheels on regular e30

Some EVo m3's had 16x7.5 wheels with a 27mm offset, will these work on a regular e30 using the m3 suspension and a 225 tire?

It should, and I dont see no difference also you'll be alright with 27mm offset.

(just wanted to emphasize that point cuz i'm sure there might be a couple guys who are new to e30 scene that might read this & not realize that the m3 is 5-lug & other e30's are 4)

Depends. M3's have flares that allow them to fit wider tires. If you have the suspension and rims, you might have some body clearance issues with no flares.

I think you will probably be fine with a 27mm offset and 225s.

When Dave Adams did his E30 M3 brake/suspension conversion on his cabrio, he was able to run US Spec 15x7 M3 wheels (which have a 27mm offset) and shod them with 225/50 tires all around. He reported no clearance/rubbing problems although he suggests rolling the fenders just to be on the safe side. The 16x7.5 wheel with 27mm offset should be no different if you mount 225/45 tires on them.

I also heard somewhere that the E28 M5s used an identical wheel with the exception of the offset being 20mm. This could probably work on a standard E30 with M3 underpinnings. However, the 20mm offset will push the wheels outward a bit more so a 225/45 may not be possible. A 215 width tire may work.....and 205 width should be no problem.

Do you know what wheels are out there that are 16x8, that will work with the conversion. and 15x8 for the track.

I have a set of 17x8 BBS RK for my e36 m3, that should work with 15mm spacers for the time being.
