    redo complete suspension

subject says all. i woudl like to prep my car for its s50 swap.
my suspension is slusshy. im thinking about replacing every thing with OEM parts.

if i do not go oem what do the aftermarket companies have to offer.

the goal it to make it a handlng monster, have responsive steering and reduce body roll.
i would like to have a track setup

pswhere can i find more photos such as those i have posted. looking for complete car broken up in differnet sections engine, electrical, interior(how the dash is set up) exterior.

    thanks in advance

I would say at least get aftermarket springs and shocks - do a search on those, there's lots of information.

    Front:
Control arms (or replace the ball joints)
    M3 control arm bushings
    Tie rod assemblies
Upper strut mounts (or camber plates)
    Sway bar bushings/links

    Rear:
    Trailing arm bushings
    Subframe bushings
    Diff bushing
Rear shock mounts (GC or JT Design)

A good place to source diagrams like that is a BMW parts catalog.

You might as well buy M3 sway bar links and pick up some tabs to be welded in from GC

      go urethane on the bushings

Those pictures are from the Bentley Service Manual. If you are looking for more quality pictures such as the ones you have posted I would suggest that you purchase one. They have a fairly large chapter on suspension including pictures of everything. It covers everything you mentioned you are looking for, interior, exterior, engine, electical, etc. I have one and I love it.

If you want stiff, get urethane parts instead of OEM. If you want bone-jarring, get Delrin parts instead of urethane :)

help me out a little this is what i found
            From bmwbushings.com
            ive decided to go with
            FRONT
-Derlin racing offset lower control arm bushings
-can m3 control arms be used***? if so im going to go with bmp.
-Steering Components Tie rods 3 series left, center, right
-can m3 strut tower mounts***-be used? (2 strut 2 rear?)i will be running H&r cup kit. Will there be camber? going again with bmp for strut mounts
-lower ball joints inner and outer
-sway bar bushings urethan front and rear. what size?
-sway bar links can i use m3? there the same price from bmp
(should i do fron and rear wheel bearings?)
-front stress bar with e.p.i from bmp

            REAR
-trailing arm bushings urethane from bmp
            -subframe bushings from bmwbushing.com
-rear shock mounts again from bmwbushings.com
            -differntial bushing from bmwbusings.com
            -rear stress bar from bmp
            -whos sells rear trailing arms??

i guess thats it. please correct me if i am wrong with what i have chosen
            thanks

***does bmp sell the parts listed in pairs or single?

I wouldn't bother with delrin control arm bushings. There was a thread a little while ago that discussed the pros and cons of rubber control arm bushings vs urethane. Urethane will be stiffer but it won't grip the control arm and provide resistance to the twisting force, which is what rubber does. M3 CA bushings should be plenty good enough (I have them and they're pretty nice!).

yes deffinately go with factory offset CA bushings, and i remember hearing that the urethane subframe and trailing arm bushings can cause squeaking. also, whats so 'high performance" about urethane bushings anyway, does it really make a difference when it comes to things like the differential or trailing arms?

Dumb question on M3 CA bushings:

When installed in a non-M car which way is the bushing arrow aligned for better high speed control?

well, I'd reccomend urethane for subframe and trailing arms. Mine don't squeak at all. :)

the ca bushings have an arrow on them that lines up with a mark on the mount. the hole goes to the outside of the car.
