E30 New Rear Euro Bumper doesn’t fit!!???

    Hey guys -

Posting this in the general forum (rather than body) as I need some immediate feedback.

I recently purchased a new euro bumper set from ECS. I haven’t received the front yet but received the back today. I need to get my car to my paint guy this weekend so I wanted to check fitment. I put the bumper together with no issues and drilled the mounts as required. Upon temporarily mounting the bumper, it’s clear that something is off. Maybe the center section is to wide? It looks like it the center section was smaller it would possibly work. Any thoughts before I call ECS tomorrow?

Looks to me like that is a rear bumper for a 5 or 6 series. Any part numbers on the packaging? Search them on RealOEM and see what comes up under applications.

Loosen the nuts under the corner trim and see how much the ends slide in. If it's anything like E28 Euro stuff, you can adjust the corners quite a bit to bring the sides closer to the body.

I have the ECS stuff on my car, it all fits pretty well once you get it adjusted properly.

The chrome bumper pieces are not made by BMW so I don’t believe the part numbers will match.

Regarding fitment; there are two nuts and two bolts on either side holding the sides in place. The bolts have a squared off base and slide directly into squared holes in the bumper leaving no room for adjustability in any direction.

I’ll speak to ECS tomorrow and report back.

Here’s the tag for the center section if it helps.

Confirmed there’s no room for adjustment. The top of the bumper only has one hole to choose from. See pics below...

You can always slot the holes.

I don't know if aftermarket bumpers are made differently but on my Euro car although the bolts are squared off, there is still slight adjustment in the fitment. I know you probably don't want to but you could always bend the corner slightly more to give you a better angle.

                            Hey Paul

Nothing to add here, but glad to see that you still have the vert, I saw a similar one for sale in your area and thought you had sold it...

                            Good luck!
