***Editors Note: Ive been trying to expand the locations and styles of cars that Ive been featuring. When I came across this car from NEW ZEALAND, I knew I had to feature it. I love to see that regardless of location, there are things we like to see done and more power is usually high on that list. This is quite a nice car from the other side of the world, but definitely has earned its spot as a Car of the Month! Congrats!! *** - Simon

Story behind the car:
I bought this car off a friend in 2015 with 68k miles on the clock. It was basically just a stock facelift 325i with 15" basketweaves and Koni/H&R suspsension. I drove it for a year on and off, did a few track days, it never really let me down, fixed a few issues as you normally do with an old car and went on my way. Eventually the day came were the stock M20 2.5L became a little underwhelming.
The turbo idea was always talked about but never really taken seriously unitl one day a friend had a turbo up for sale and so it began. Starting out as a simple bolt on turbo build turned into a full engine rebuild and a fully shaved engine bay. I have peer pressure, a friend group of car guys and Corona to blame for that. Now that the car goes...I'm glad I caved to the pressure.
Taking the best part of a year and half to build, the car is now car is now a fully street legal ripper. It puts out 282kw/378hp at the wheels on pump gas (98) at 16psi. It's the most comfortable sleeper I've owned. I can take it to work or I can take it out on the highway, unsuspecting and absolutely awesome when you foot it. There was very much a love hate relationship throughout the build but now it is going I'm absolutely stoked its finally finished and can drive it.
