    M52 swap

Hard to believe it has been 7 years since the swap. It has been trouble free and fun once I got the rear trans mount aligned with the drive shaft. Needs a new flex disk now though. 40,000 miles is a great run. The fan looks a little funny since it is on backward. The front of the car was not properly repaired from a previous owner and clearance to the radiator was about 1/4 inch too close. By turning the fan backward got the space needed and enough air to cool so works well.

Engine is 2.8L from 1996 E-39. Has S52 Cams so makes lots of power. OBD 1 intake etc.

Nice. Back then you could get a decent engine for reasonable money. Today, it's $500 TTD just for an OEM e34 oil pan kit. When "cash for clunkers" was at its height, I would go the the u pull with an engine brace, support the engine, drop the sub frame, and grab all the front sump stuff. Then unscrew the engine brace and the the m50 fall in the dirt.

Oh, how many m50nv US were thrown away.
