3.73 with an M20/G260 was fine and I never wanted anything else.

I ran my M52/ZF320 with the 3.73 and it was terrible. Finally swapped to a 2.93 and it feels "right" for a street...

sunroof drain not being inserted in the trunk vent, antenna grommet, trunk seal (if parked nose-down), and c-pillar sail panel clips/foam gaskets can all cause trunk water ingress as well....
