Whats up everyone ! My name is Richard and I'll be starting college here somewhat soon (August 24th) at UC Merced, which is about a 7 hour drive from where I live and I was wondering if anyone had any useful college tips for me ? I made it into the school of engineering and am hoping to major in mechanical engineering by the way. Thanks you guys for any feedback (:

Not sure how your school works, but for us, first year was fairly general so that people could switch majors within engineering without repeating a year. So like that I had a lot of courses i hated. But past first year it got super interesting and now i'm extremely glad i did it. (almost done).1988 Atlantisblau Euro/Japanese 325i Cabriolet

Advice, keep the partying to days ending in y and actually do the homework and reading when you can. Also be careful about your class scheduling, sometimes even that 9AM class is tough to get to more than a few times in a semester especially if you have to walk across campus past the breakfast place on an empty stomach.2011 JGC daily, 1985 944

enjoy it!! it goes by fast. I would say just make sure to balance your free time and school time well. Don't do to much school time and not leave any time for fun. my sister in law is a Junior at ASU doing civil En, and she hates it. She never leaves time for herself because she is constantly studying
my experience was the opposite.. I had a blast 24/7. I studied during the day so I could screw around at night.
ENJOY IT!Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I was one of the individuals that was weeded out from my class after the 2nd year. I realized that my high school teachers made all of my calculus and physics classes enjoyable. Once I got to college, it's all business. The professor comes in, gives their lecture, assigns your homework and reading material and leaves. Not to mention that college-level physics, statics, mechanics, all of that is very difficult to comprehend when all of your professors are either Japanese and/or Indian (real Indian) and cannot understand them.
After getting my current job I realized I enjoy leading projects and being in a leadership role...so after a couple of years I've decided to go that route and major in business management at ASU.
Hope you enjoy it, I know sure as hell a lot of people in my engineering classes, including me, did not expect it to be as "dry" as it was.Originally posted by Wh33lhopThis is r3v. Check your vaginal sand at the door.
