So while I wait for my screw extractors to arrive, I decided to work on a couple other things.

The stock oil feed line requires a special oil filter housing specific to the m106. Since those aren't just growing on trees, I decided to take another approach. After checking out the two M6 ports on the side of the oil filter housing, I found the one that's attached to the main chamber. But M6 fittings are 1) too small, and 2) hard to find. Time to bust out the drill and tap! From M6 to 1/8NPT.

Following a quick trip to the hardware store for a tee, I now have a perfect location for the oil pressure sensor and another 1/8NPT port for the oil feed line (which will be AN lines and fittings)

I also took the time to fit my new air filter. Ya, it's fucking cramped. I have to remove the high beam to make it all fit

I'm going to try and find something un-ricey to fit in the high beam spot that will also help funnel in some extra air for the intake and IC. Stay tuned!

More hassle than it's worth really, especially since it's a downward-facing oil canister that would mean having to shuffle around a bunch of wires and hoses to make it fit.

Screw extractors arrived! Time to get this bitch out.

I had another adapter, so I decided to try again. This time though I threaded in the adapter before the sensor. I was just beginning to seat the aluminum washer when I suddenly felt it get looser. I quickly stopped and unthreaded it. Look at this shit! Cheap Chinese garbage. Fuck it, I'm off to find a decent stainless or zinc-coated steel adapter.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Damn, I should have known Amazon would have something like that. I just spent $16 at a local store for a zinc-coated steel adapter. Probably not worth the hassle to return it though.

I'm going to have to add some of that UV dye to my engine oil when I crank this thing up. There's so many new potential leak spots, I want to make sure I've got them all done right. Oil filter housing, oil temp sensor, oil pressure sensor, turbo feed, turbo drain, etc....

Received some goodies from Summit to help me plumb my oil feed for the turbo

I also started working on something to take the place of the passenger side high beam, since I can't make it fit with the air filter and intercooler.

I found this 5-3/4" bell mouth thing on Summit. It's designed to take the place of any factory headlight of the same diameter. I had to hack up the black plastic headlight bucket to make it fit, but I was pretty happy with the result...

...until I reinstalled it on the car with the grill, and realized it sits about 1.5" too far back! Looks like shit IMO.

I want it to sit out at the normal highbeam location, but I don't have any way to attach it. The plan was to cover the opening with a fine silver mesh screen that would at least *sort of* look like a stock headlight and not some ricer air funnel, but I think I've failed.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm kind of scratching my head at the moment.

I dont know much about aerodynamics and fluid movement.. but I'd search a bit to find out the best way to funnel air cleanly to the IC.

I've seen others delete the same headlamp for similar reasons. Copy them..?

I imagine this fit just fine in the 7er; BMW did nothing special?
