Finally got my Moonlite Motorwerks driveshaft spacer.

Looks like great build quality. It's a 1/2 inch in thickness and should help in giving the new (used) shaft better bite.

Its been almost 2 months since the car has been sitting....hopefully this donor auto transfer case I got is good.....gonna have to dissect it to mate up w/ the 5-speed

    hmmm.....cool product.

to be clear, you are using this because your drive shaft started skipping in the transfer case socket?

if this is the case, i am not sure this is a long term solution but hopefully it will get you by for a while.

you might need to grind some of the aluminum off the oil pan in that area so the bolts will clear.

Yup the guys at MM mentioned about grinding that area to clear. Not much tho.

As far as the skipping, yes my current tc and shaft are stripped but I'm trashing both of those. Starting fresh w a new/used shaft and tc that look to be in great condition. I just wanted more surface area for it to grab to

WTF I tried getting one of those last year and got no response. Tried for a couple months. I have a sweet action CAD drawing for a spacer from another dude that never got off the ground. May try it one day when I get another iX.

Looks cool. What is the spacer made from? Aluminum?

What do they thread the studs into the axle flange with teflon nut on the back side?

no centering pin = no thanks.

personally the thicker X5 flex disk and X5 centering pin make a lot more sense. you can add a washer or two there as well if you want maximum spacing.

Yes the shaft is threaded to accept the studs that have a Teflon nut on one end

perhaps the spacer goes between the original ix centering pin and ds?

then it needs the flanges that fit into the driveshaft and centering pin, otherwise it's still centered with bolts.

FWIW the X5 flex disc is ~3/8" thicker than the ix one (it's really the same thing as a rear flex disc)
