ok i know you can hot cam it, and short of a turbo what else? anyone experiment with different injectors or any thing?

seriously, the only NA modding you can really do with a M50 nonvanos is:
stroke and bore to 3200cc or more (ala s52)
Add s52 cams to it and vanos.
so basically you will have a S52 at the end with double valvesprings but thicker and heavier (and tiny little bit less flowing) valves.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30
Euro e46 2005/6 320d 6mt gearbox into E30 with M20 hardy and beck 1985 327s engine

none of those things are going to make any real difference other than a cam, chip, and perhaps gearing.Comment

I have read that the m52 tubular exhaust offers more torque. Bigger TB, Injectors, chip, and underdrive pulleys are the only bolt on mods I can think of right now. A lightened flywheel will help throttle response and if you want to start getting into machining you can always do a valve grind/porting.
I'm going with a m50NV for the electrical simplicity and to make it easier to turbo down the road. I'm not too worried about being happy with it since I already love the torque in my eta engine and the nv should feel about the same with another 60 hp to play with...Comment

M50NV wont really benefit from a valve grind/porting. esp with the stock cams.
Chip and OBD2 manifolds are about the only things that really do anything for that motor.
