seriously, the only NA modding you can really do with a M50 nonvanos is:

stroke and bore to 3200cc or more (ala s52)
Add s52 cams to it and vanos.

so basically you will have a S52 at the end with double valvesprings but thicker and heavier (and tiny little bit less flowing) valves.

The M50NV is a technologically advanced M20. And not much advanced at that.

turbo is what i plan for the car but was simply wondering what people have done,

Haven't done these but read about them as options.

Underdrive pulleys
Big bore throttlebody
Cam
Chip
Change your gearing

none of those things are going to make any real difference other than a cam, chip, and perhaps gearing.

I have read that the m52 tubular exhaust offers more torque. Bigger TB, Injectors, chip, and underdrive pulleys are the only bolt on mods I can think of right now. A lightened flywheel will help throttle response and if you want to start getting into machining you can always do a valve grind/porting.

I'm going with a m50NV for the electrical simplicity and to make it easier to turbo down the road. I'm not too worried about being happy with it since I already love the torque in my eta engine and the nv should feel about the same with another 60 hp to play with...

M50NV wont really benefit from a valve grind/porting. esp with the stock cams.
Chip and OBD2 manifolds are about the only things that really do anything for that motor.

I knew going into mine that NV mods were limited to just about a chip. Im having a great time with mine stock and once I get my chip, Im sure ill be more than happy. Sure, and S5x and forced induction would be nice (near dangerous in my hands) but Im content with my setup.
